We are invited (and maybe also challenged) to rekindle these gifts over and over and over again. That’s where the church comes in! And aren’t we blessed with a church! All we have to do is to draw near and let the Holy Spirit rekindle the faith and the gifts that are already within us. I know this is true, because I always walk away from church with a spring in my step, a smile on my face, and a new opportunity for service rattling around in my heart. Maybe you do too.
When I think of the waters of baptism, I also think about washing off the dirt and grime accumulated through the process of daily living that can obscure our innate beauty.
